The Huffington Post's Arianna Huffington strives to provide her readers with current news and information from a liberal point of view. Recently, Huffington reports on President Obama's recent visit to England. While attending a scheduled meeting with the Queen of England at Buckingham Palace, President Obama presented the Queen with a unique gift: an I-Pod. You might be asking yourself, why would the President present the Queen with such a peculiar gift? Well according to the article, the gift did have a significant purpose.
Huffington states that President Obama presented the Queen of England with an I-Pod containing a video recording of the Queen's most recent visit to the United States. In return, the Queen presented the Obamas with a "picture of both her and her husband." Not only did President Obama present the Queen with a gift. The Obamas had also given Gordon Brown and his family with "DVDs (in the incorrect format) and Marine models." The British public had recieved the gift giving positively.
While visiting The Huffington Post, I found the layout of Huffington's blog to be quite effective. Huffington's usage of images had been effective in presenting her readers with a visual which helps to aid readers when reading any given information. For this article in particular, I found it effective how Huffington had added a slide show of pictures concerning the Obama's visit with the Queen of England. It was effective and served her purpose quite well. Overall, I found the quality of Huffington's post to neat, organized, and effective.
